Public Safety Communications Project Profiles Lake Worth Police Department, Northwest Emergency Communications Center

Lake Worth, Texas

A CALEA-accredited regional, consolidated 9-1-1 and emergency communications center serving multiple partner jurisdictions in the DFW metroplex

The Challenge

Before working with Russ Bassett, our communications center operated in a 25-year-old space that had remained virtually untouched since its original construction. We were using hand-me-down consoles from another agency—furniture that no longer supported the ergonomic standards or technology requirements of a modern 9-1-1 environment. Compounding the challenge, the room’s unusual and inefficient layout made it difficult to create a workspace that supported optimal performance, comfort, and workflow for our team.

The Project Goal

Our project goals were twofold: to expand capacity and to elevate the work environment. As our center continues to grow, it was critical to maximize our existing space by adding more consoles—not only to meet today’s demands but to ensure we’re ready for the future. Just as important was our commitment to creating a world-class workspace for our team. With a people-first approach, we understand that delivering exceptional service to our community starts with supporting the comfort, health, and well-being of our employees.

The Solution

To meet the unique challenges of our space and the growing demands of our center, we partnered with Russ Bassett to implement their Flex sit/stand console workstations. These workstations offered the full package—personalized ergonomic adjustments, integrated cable and technology management, and optimized monitor arrays—all designed to support operator comfort, visibility, and performance during long shifts. Most importantly, the solution allowed us to maximize console positions within our uniquely shaped room, transforming a difficult layout into an efficient, high-functioning workspace.

Partnering with Russ Bassett proved to be the turning point. Through trusted relationships built over years of industry interaction, Russ Bassett delivered more than just consoles—they delivered a tailored solution that addressed the center’s space constraints, future growth needs, and ergonomic goals. Their Flex console workstations brought modern sit/stand adjustability, optimized monitor visibility, and streamlined technology integration, all within an efficient footprint. Though the center is still awaiting the big reveal, Lake Worth’s executive team is already thrilled with the transformation—and confident their operators will return to a space that is energizing, efficient, and built for their success. As they put it best: “Russ Bassett didn’t just deliver new consoles—they helped us bring our vision to life.”
